I just got a new car, and the speaker in the back vibrates and rattles to heavy bass; it's quite loud and annoying. What could be the problem?

  1. They may not be blown yet, but are definitely on their way if not already.  You're trying to get bass from a speaker that's not designed for it.    If you want to keep the factory head unit, you can still add a sub and get some bass blockers for your speakers so you can keep from blowing them out.  If you replace them without replacing the deck, make sure you replace them with speakers of equivalent impedance.

  2. When it starts to do this, by definition, it is already 'blown'. You will want to disconnect it if you can do so from the trunk, as if it seizes in a weird way or the spider pops on top of the magnet pole it can cause a short which can blow that channel of your amplifier/stereo.  disconnect it!

  3. well if it's rattling it's not blown yet but it's on it's way out. my uncle told me that a year ago when i had to replace mine, it used to drive me nuts.

  4. the cone is blown on the speaker. buy some new ones, that will fix it!

  5. It sounds like you blew your speaker out....MAYBE....

  6. Blown speaker, damaged or missing fasteners both speaker and panel wise, rattling sheet metal...  the list can go on.  Take it to a reputable shop and have them take a listen.

  7. get some new speakers.

  8. yea speakers are blown
