Question:

Reason for an apology?

I leave to go back home for about a week or so. My boyfriend took leave from work saying that he wanted to spend time with me before I left. This morning, he made plans to drop off one of his friend's to work. e gets up and gets ready and then wakes me up to tell me that he is leaving and I woke up a little frustrated and he told me that he had to go. I know that it sounds kind of childish, but I had hoped to go with him. Well, he leaves and then he comes home an hour and a half later and then says that I should get ready to go get breakfast. I tell him why I am upset and he tells me that I should've asked if I wanted to go. We live together and I would think that if I were to leave anywhere and tell him "Bye, I'm leaving." Without inviting him to go with me, he would get upset. But then he wants me to apologize for not asking him if I could come and I want him to apologize for not asking me. I know... I know.. it sounds childish. But I needed some input on the situation.

  1. First of all you are assuming a lot here.  How do you know he will get upset if you did the same to him and he demand an apology?  I'm willing the bet that he does not think of it that way.  He may have thinking about you when he did not wake you early in the morning just to go for a drive.  I know my wife would much rather sleep than go for a ride with my friend. She does like to be notified that I'm leaving and she has the gift of falling back to sleep.  I think you are getting upset over nothing and next time you should ask him to wait a few minuets for you to get ready.
