Cricket is considerd as religion in Pakistan as in India. Then what was the reason for low turnout during Asia cup. The stadiums were empty in Pakistan matches as well even though a crowd puller like Afridi was playing. Is the passion for cricket is dying out in Pakistan or what? Please do not relate low turnout with 20-20 because during Pak vs Ban 20-20 match stadium was almost 70% empty.

  1. Here we do prefare watching a match on TV rather than going in the staduim. Because there a huge security clearance from which u have to cross b4 entering into the stadium. Police , rangers and much more secuirty agencies are there , they stop people miles away from ground and u have to walk a lot. this could also be a possible reason.

  2. couple of reasons in my opinion.

    1. It is extremly hot & humid this time of year in pak, esp in Lahore/Punjab. stadiums dont have a an enclosure from the sun.

    4. The bombings

    5. The crime

  3. I think many Pakistani are not corrupted by this hit and run type of cricket as yet. Pakistani people believe in tradition and real cricket like the test matches.

  4. because it exam time and the home team did not qualify for final

  5. Ever thought all the bomb blasts put the spectators off going to see the cricket....
