Reasonable Curfew for 14 year old?

Question

I live in a pretty safe area in Miami, Florida & I'm 14 years old, high school student.. My parents told me weekdays 11 & weekends by midnight I have to be home. I'm pretty okay with this, what do you think?

I think your parents are great because mine are not and i have to be home by 8:30 weekdays and 10:00 weekends. You should thank them for trusting you and enjoy it .

Weekdays at 11 is much too late. You need to be able to get up on time for school and be rested. No later than 9:30 on a school night and 10:30 on a week-end.

you have it easy my parents were stick if i was in 9 grade i had to be home by 9 on weekdays and 9 30 on weekends.

I have a 9-9:30 weekdays and 11 on weeknights.... But with acceptions.

That was my curfew when i reached 17. Before that, it was 9 on weekdays and 10 on weekends. At your age my curfew was 8pm

I hated it then, but I would repeat this for my kids when they get old enough. Yours is too liberal for me being a parent to be comfortable.

i think its fine, but i do think that, depending on your sleeping habits, and the time you have to be ready for school, 11 might be too late.

I think your lucky you didnt have my parents when I was 14 my curfew was 9pm and weekends it was 11 if I was lucky

Wow...I am 16 and my curfew is 9pm during weekdays and 11pm on the weekends...Consider yourself lucky

If anything, that is VERY generous of your folks. I would reccomend sticking to the curfew and proving to them that you are worth their trust.

When I was 14 (in the 1990's), my curfew was no going out on school nights unless it was a school event, or I was over at a friends house, theoretically doing homework (in which case, I was picked up by 9), and 10pm Friday and Saturday (unless there was a school activitiy, or we were at a friend's home with parents there, or going to a movie that let us out later). My folks may have been neurotic, but their limits kept me not pregnant until I was married!

Not really. I find it kind of late for a 14-year-old. I had to be back in by 11 on weekdays and 12 on weekends when I was 17!! The only reason it was even that late is because I was dating someone older than me that had to work and couldn't get down till 7!!

I really think that is OVER reasonable.

Considering that she is only 14 years old, her curfew should be lowered unless she is being chaperoned by another parent or someone.

Consider lowering it, if you feel that she is beginning to act strangely.

There are so many psychos out there in this world, and the last thing you want to do is worry about whether your child is okay or not.

And you should always know where she is going.

im 15 and i have to be home by 12 weekdays(9:30 school nights but its summer) and like 1oclock on weekends so yeah whatever as long as your with you say you are and like your not getting into trouble and doing drugs i think its fine!!!

same here i go party with my friends or i hang with my boyfriend and my brothers....

for me to put a curfew with my children i would say no later than 10:30 on weekdays and no later than 11:00 on weekends. To many things can go wrong and that is the limits because i am a concerned parent.

im 13, mine is in by 9 on school nights, bed at 10, weekends/summer in by 10 no bedtime but it depends

It isn't bad, but be very careful. Avoid dark, spaced-out places.
