Im about to buy a car off someone and hes offering a sound system which includes:

two 6 inch clarions in front, two competition mid-ranges in back, two 12 inch Dr.Crankinsteins in ported box, and jbl amp, alpine deck w/ XM radio option.

Hes asking for $800 more on top of the initial price. I honestly don't have a clue about the stereo price market. Could anyone with some knowledge on this subject please insight me.. I dont want to get ripped off.

Thanks

  1. well it's your money. spend it right and listen or take anyones advice that YOU want. if you want a ok price then look them up. or just log onto www.apex-audio.com and buy thier catalog. there you can have a chose from 100s of brands and most idems are below wholesale price. you can get audio as low as 10 bucks. i have my own catalog, that's where i shop all the time. you can even get your entire

systm for $600. no dealer licence recuiered to buy. open to eveyone who buys the catalog. if you can't find it? look in the lowrider mag, that's how i found out about this years ago.

  2. dont do it spend less and get more get all matching car audio stuff like  u want ur amp and subs to match and ur component speakers should match those but with the head unite get a pionner u get more options with it

  3. Don't buy his equipment. He's wanting full price for used equipment. 800 bucks can get you New stuff of even better quality than what he's offering you. Odds are pretty good that he won't even take the door speakers and 6x9's out.. if he does, he's petty. Don't deal w/ the guy. Send me an email if you decided to shop around for your own stuff and I'll help you.

  4. Without model numbers, it's hard to be precise.  I'll take a stab at it all and say it's fair market value is about half of what he's asking.  I'd negotiate the stereo part of the deal because he probably doesn't want to deal with taking all that stuff out.  More then likely, a lot of the items won't work in his next vehicle, so you can use that to your advantage in talking him down.

How does it sound to you?  If the sound is worth $400 to you, then I'd say it's okay for that amount.

  5. Hey buddy its called comparison shopping.  Call and get prices on that stuff and quotes for installation.
