Reasonable time for a 50k trail run?

me and my friend are going to run a 50k trail run, and i need to know a reasonable time. we figured about 4 hours 30 minutes would be good.

It really depends on the course My last 50 k trail run was so rugged that I had to hike up the hills because they were so steep.  Your goal time sounds good it all depends on your current level of fitness too.  Are you going to run the whole thing?  If you plan to like the marathon you really have to keep to pace.  My first I felt great at mile 22 so I thought I would pick up the pace and by mile 26 I was in a world of hurt.  Enjoy it too it is amazing running so far.

Don't know what 50K you're thinking about doing??  Depends on the course, elevation change, and how many other competitors there are?  I've done 1 50K very difficult course and with around 300 runners the time you put above would've been good for around 8-15th place.....Look at past results for the race your going to do, then you can set your goal time better in your head and try to accomplish it!!  Hope you've been training, it's a long way, and if a difficult course it will torture you!!   Good Luck, here is someone's story of the race I did, but different year !!       http://run50miles.org/2008/01/27/mountai...
