  1. Well, I don't see any for, but against...

    -It's force

    'Nuff said...

  2. Reasons for. 1:Training for those that are picked. 2: Better than unemployment 3: Discipline 4: Self esteem for those that underachieved at school 5: If the s**** hits that fan and we are invaded, better to have a group of trained ppl defending us with skills learnt. 6: Being paid for doing something, instead of work for the Dole etc. 7: Future career prospects instead of losing hope on getting a good job when school is over and nothing is available, sadly when you look for a job, wanted 18yr Old with experience, how does one get experience?. 8: Hopefully pride in the fact that they are doing something worthwhile for their country. 9: Better than having a lot of unemployed ppl sitting at home doing nothing, drinking etc, still can do that if conscripted. Againsts: Force doesn't always work, was ok back in the 60s we expected it and didn't mind doing our bit, nowadays mindset is different. Not all 18yr olds are laying around doing nothing, just need a break and willing to work. also some it screws with them mentally, the kill or be killed mentality breaks some, sad to watch. All in all I am for more than against.

  3. Many nations employ the practice of conscription.  It helps instill national loyalty upon the youth.  It provides a steady stream of recruits who are easily reactivated into military service.  Nations like Israel rely on conscription of both sexes to provide sufficient manpower to defend itself from hostile neighbors.  Conscription or leve en masse has been used for hundreds of years to protect the nation from threats.

Reasons against conscription, people are often unwilling against military service which is bad juju for volunteers and general hapiness of the people.  Look at the NY riots in the civil war or the general protests during vietnam.  Conscription may lead to upheaval and the destruction of the very nation people are trying to protect.  Conscription is often unfairly put in practice where wealthy and elite people wind up on exempt lists, it is a corruption on a grand scale where the working class and the youth wind up fighting.

  4. You have to do this as part of year 10 for school certificate, yeah? XD

I did it last year.. haha

I'll list a few reasons in a few min or so.. bit bust for the moment

(obviously as I'm posting on here :P)

Conscription assumes that the state has ownership over its people rather than the other way around... This is a perversion of the foundations Australia was built upon: A government, of, by and for the people. Conscription assumes the opposite. A people, of, by and for, the government.

For: It would be seen as an act of loyalty. For the mother country (Britain), and also support for those hard working people already in the war.

    Hope that helps..
