Reasons for bloodshot eyes?

my eyes are slightly bloodshot and red but they dont hurt or itch or anything like that. actually they arnt bothering me at all, but i was wondering what causes it. could it be allergies to dogs? i was allergict to them as a small child (like 5-6) but thought i out grew it sence we have 3 small dogs in the house, and a big rot/hound mix in and out of the house as well and i have had no probs with it.

Do you smoke? If you do it could be that. Did you go swimming? Maybe you had somthing on your hands and you rubbed your eyes. If they don't hurt don't be too alarmed but if they start hurting a lot ask a doctor. Try some visine redness releiver.
