Reasons for decrease in prices of footwear sales?

Can anyone think of any reasons that can decrease the price of footwear sales. This is for my statistics assignment. I said it can be because of inflation rising what other reasons could there be.

Decrease in price of any commodity is caused by some factors of production and economy as well. They are ( to mention a few)  excess supply (caused by dumping or release of seasonal end-sale), New attractive offer from competitors with better technology, Market recession, National or regional recession, International exchange drop down, Low quality etc. to name a few in so many other reasons.

Added with this, footwear are made with raw materials of semi perishable nature.

I think you are clear now to be guided to find the other causes also.

You  said  Decrease  in  prices ,  

Which  might  be   cheaper  materials  are  being  used  

( less  leather )

Or  that  they  have   found  a  cheaper  place  to have  them  produced .

Inflation  would  cause  an  Increase  in price ,

  Not  a  decrease  in  prices .
