For spring break I want to go to Mexico (cancun, cabo, puerta vallerta...etc) but one of my friends who is trying to go with us, his parents will only let him go by himself if we go on a cruise.

What are some reasons against a cruise and for going to mexico and staying in a resort.

  1. Well there are always the threat of disease and If I'm not mistaken you are not always on the ship.  You make a few stops at islands to tour along the way.  Cruise lines are usually very good with everything so the only other concern you may have is getting a bad sunburn.  Other than that there are not many other disadvantages against going on a cruise.  I have been on 4 myself and i have found each one to be different all in a good way.  They all have there own things to offer you and you can always count on having a good time.  Hope this Helps!  Good Luck and Have Fun!

  2. Cruises are a ripoff, with gross buffets and classist ship staff.  There's also way too many old farts around.

Resorts are more restful, and don't tell you what to do.  MY kind of vacation. . . .

  3. i personally do not like boats at all... this might seem a little weird but after hearing about the titanic i said "NO MORE BOATS FOR ME" i am also afraid about the seas being rough...i have never been on a cruise befor...but....i would totally go if the water was perfect....but....again....i hate boats...and i would probably have a hard time sleeping..but if the boat went in calm water...i would definitely go...have fun if you do go!!!!...ps...mexico sounds nice....the gulf of mexico is very nice too....

  5. the ship could sink, you could be seasick all the way, the hotel might be really run down and haunted.......lol i have no clue

  6. All the kids go to the resorts, not on the cruises.  I don't think you would have that fun a time. Mostly older people too.

  7. no reason.  a cruise is great!  all meals are included. you get to travel to different locales and not have to rely on taxi's that don't speak english.  many people will try to take advantage of a kid in a foreign country traveling alone.  a cruise is an excellent idea!

  8. bad things about a cruise:

people puke A LOT on cruises

    Titanic

A lot of people recently (2007) went overboard

    bad things about Mexico:

    foreign country

    different language

  9. You don't want to hang out with a bunch of old people and their parents.

  10. #1 Cruise ships are bad for the enviornment!!! But I doubt parents will be super concerned with that.

Cruises are not as safe as they use to be in the last few years some ?(mostly girls) have gone missing from cruises in the middle of the day and night. Or workers getting them drunk/drugged and mugging. It doesnt happen all the time but there are some reports of it. There are lots of news stories about it.

IF they are worried about you running out of money and getting into trouble than a cheap All-inclusive in Cancun or PV will solve that problem.
