If you look at the technique in relation to the tenets of fundamental religious faith, then there probably is no ethically acceptable reason for destroying any cells which have the potential and the ability to create life.

But, at a rational level, even within the context of religious teachings and interpretation of holy works, we can choose to accept the notion that not every single cell which has the potential to create life must be preserved.  At some point, pragmatics and reason must guide our decisions.
