Reasons why John Wall will have an explosive next NBA season with Washington Wizards – (Part 2)
Wall has the potential to make it big
The amount of success that Wall enjoyed during a short span in his very first season is exceptional. Although, the 6 ft 4 in wasn’t able to lift the Rookie of the Year award in his first season, but several NBA analysts are already
comparing him with the top point guards in the league like Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose and New Orleans Hornets Chris Paul.
The reason behind the comparison was Wall’s extra ordinary skills. Wall is a combination of Paul’s vision and Rose’s athleticism. Apart from having these qualities, Wall’s rookie season’s statistics were quite like Paul’s first
season figures. In his first season, Paul provided assists at an average of 7.8 per game, while Wall dished out 8.3 assists per contest. Paul was up in the field goal percentage, but Wall beat him in the three-point hitting.
As far as Wall’s comparison with Rose is considered, it will be a bit premature at the moment. Rose is a beast on the floor, one who is extremely strong around the rim and a solid player when it comes to gathering points from the
perimeter. Wall has not developed these attributes just yet and lack in the mass and strength required to make an impact on the paint and around it.
However, he is only one year old in the league and with time, he will learn the crafts of his position. For the Wizards though, the sooner he learns, the better it will be.
Wall’s activities during off-season

The lockout has reduced the activities of the National Basketball Association players. Under the lockout norms, the players are barred from not just making any contact with the front office members of the franchise, but also from
using the team facilities.
Considering this scenario, many players have moved abroad. Some of the NBA players have even signed the pacts with international teams and didn’t include an opt-out clause.
However, John Wall’s story has been different. The point guard has been taking part in exhibition game and is also completing his unfinished education.
This in itself is a great achievement by Wall, as younger players could get easily lose track in these kinds of scenarios. However, Wall proved firm in this regard and has been keen on sticking to his roots.
