Reasons why Miami Heat star LeBron James will be the MVP next season – NBA Feature Part 5
Matured as a player:
There is a major contrast between the LeBron of 2003 and the current LeBron.
When it comes to skills, James is exceptional - one of the greatest individuals ever to adorn the NBA court without a doubt. It is his extraordinary basketball skills that have earned him two MVP’s and place in two NBA finals so
far.
However his mentality and maturity has been a major cause of his defamation over the years and in a way has kept him devoid of the status that he deserved outside NBA.  He has never been a gilt edged player when it comes to applying
the psychological part of his brain. He is the sort who would rather allow his game talk for him and to be fair enough, it is a smart approach.
But it has held him from winning a championship. Athleticism can take you to new heights in basket ball but you also need to be intelligent otherwise you get predictable and defense can contain you with ease. As a player, one needs
to remember it’s a team game and individual performances can although get you accolades but are not sufficient to guide your team to a victory.
It’s the self centred approach that has hurt his reputation over the years. However, he showed a great sign of maturity last year when he sacrificed the spotlight and the playtime, letting other two players in the team to dominate
the game.
He has avoided media or any useless comments that would become the cause of his defamation. Not only that but the guy who is perceived as an ego-maniac has gone a mile extra and openly declared that he needs help in his game.
The new reformed LeBron will come into the season not only as physically fit but mentally too. He has shown shades of maturity which will earn him respect of fans and more success in future.
Man on a mission:
Last season, it looked like the motivated LeBron had decided to shut the mouths of critics and his haters when he single handedly took his team to the NBA finals. However, when it mattered most, in the NBA finals, LeBron could
not deliver.
Just two ordinary games in the final spoiled all his excellent performances in the playoffs. He was this close to fulfilling his dream of winning his first championship but unfortunately it was not to be.
NBA finals were a disaster for LeBron. The guy who had been jumping around finding the posts with ease in the earlier rounds all of a sudden stagnated. He ended averaging only 17 points which was not enough for his team as he was
the one the team was relying on completely.
But it would be completely unfair to blame him completely for Miami’s loss. It was the responsibility of Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade to cover for his inefficiencies which they also failed to do.
LeBron is wounded and this season, he is definitely going to give everything he has to give a strong message to his critics and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as the MVP of the tournament.
