Say a woman has two kids: A daughter and a son. Her husband dies and the family depends on the oldest son to run the family...the son passes away and the daughter is too young to work. What reasons could there be as to why a mother cannot work? Disabilities is one, but what kind of disability? Any other idea other than disability?

  1. cuz shes lazy..........why else..

  2. This sounds like a very sad situation.

If the daughter is still young and in education, then I should imagine any mother would want to provide for her, and try to make their lives as comfortable as possible.

Age (as in over 65) disability (although depends on the disability), and mental illness, depression, stress related illness, but for mental illness and depression you need to get help anyway, because you probably wouldn't be able to look after yourself and a child properly.

  3. mental disability...look into your states E.E.D. for more info.

  4. depression,no transportation,

  5. It is definitely time to seek help for your mom.

She appears to have never recovered since your father's passing. Now that her son passed she has no desire to move forward.

    Her mental health is unstable.

It is time to get a trusted adult involved.

Perhaps you might consider finding a relative to stay with, and then calling social services to seek help for your mom.

She needs an adult to help her.

Is she sleeping all day? Is she keeping up her hygiene? Is she cooking or cleaning?

If not, it is time to get help immediately.

    Best wishes

  6. If I went through something like this it would probably be depression!

  7. Why wouldn't the mom be able to work?  Even with no men in the family, there is no excuse for her to stay home all day while the daughter is (likely) in school.  Not even for homeschool!  Unless she has a physical or mental disability, the only other reason she could possibly have for staying home is that she is plain and simple L A Z Y and doesn't mind living on the backs of others (ie the taxpayers).  Even if she were a billionaire (or a billionaire's widow), I still think she should work at SOMETHING if she is able.

PS: Your story sounds interesting.  Post an update when it's published!

  8. No skills to work.

    No babysitter.

    No transportation.
