  1. I am not sure of the purpose you are asking this, so I will take it at different angles.

1- You don't want your patrons to see you drinking in the front of the house. ANY type of drinks or food should be consumed in ONLY the break room or other designated areas.

2- Too much soda will rot your teeth. Personally, I like my teeth.

3- You can damage your esophugas if you consume too much cola products; trust me. I grew up in the restaurant business and then did restaurant management for approx. 8 years. Although I have very healthy teeth, I have burnt a portion of my esophugus from the coke.

Dunno what websites to give you as I don't really know the point of the question (in terms of why you want to know).

  2. Why use a web site when common sense should do?

Employees should not eat or drink while performing their duties. It is a health code violation. Cross contamination can easily occur if your cook's soda/burger/whatever comes in contact with his/her hands and the product being prepared.

For example, Jim Bob is your cook. He's eating his burger in one hand and has the flu. The fact that he's bringing the food to his mouth, contaminating his hand (gloves or not), and THEN coming in contact with food being prepped... say a salad, or even another burger. You'd get shut down for that.

I ran pizzerias back in the 80s. Employees could only eat on breaks, and then had to wash up afterward before returning to work, even the delivery drivers. Considering I was in a college town, anyone who walked by could have worked for the health department.

  3. they should be able to! Try working a 8,9,10,12+ hour day with 1 half hour break, working fast and working in the grill area that's about 100 degrees- then say that they shouldn't drink. As long as its quick, i don't see the problem . I'm not talking about eating  but getting a drink- no problem.
