Rebecca Soni secures fastest time on day three of the Maria Lenk Trophy
Day three of the Maria Lenk Trophy got off to a strong start with the thrilling performance of Rebecca Soni in the Women’s 100m breast-stroke final with a sterling time of 1:05.79 minutes at Rio de Janeiro.
Outstandingly, she broke her previous record of 1:05.89 minutes set in February. Meanwhile, Jessica Hardy clinched the silver title with a winning time of 1:06.13 minutes and jumped into the second spot in the world rankings with this swim. On the other
hand, Tatiane Sakemi took the bronze medal with a time of 1:12.62 minutes. Hardy was very much pleased with her performance in the 100m breast-stroke meet.
In the Men’s 100m butterfly final, Kaio Almeida snatched the gold medal with a winning time of 52.11 seconds. The 14-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Fred Phelps has the number one place in the 100m butterfly with a time of 51.75 seconds, while Takuro
Fujii has the second place with a 51.84 seconds effort. Joeri Verlinden retains the third rank with 51.85 seconds.
Glauber Silva grabbed the silver title in the 100m butterfly final with a time of 52.99 seconds and Gabriel Mangabeira snagged the bronze medal with a 53.13 seconds effort.
In the meantime, the Men’s 100m breast-stroke title was taken over by Felipe Silva with a sterling time of 1:00.71 minutes. On the other side, Joao Luiz Gomes Jr. took home the silver title in 1:01.10 minutes and Felipe Lima picked the top three in 1:01.15
minutes.
Ous Mellouli nabbed the Men’s 400m freestyle title with an intriguing time of 3:51.51 minutes, while Juan Pereyra took the second place with a time of 3:53.51 minutes. Lucas Kanieski snatched the bronze in a time of 3:54.77 minutes.
Last, but not the least, Dayanara De Paula picked up the top seed in the Women’s 100m butterfly with a winning time of 58.78 seconds. Gabriella Silva nabbed the silver title with a time of 59.36 seconds and Daiene Marcel Dias rounded out the top three in
1:00.45 minutes.
Moreover, the Women’s 400m freestyle title was taken over by Poliana Okimoto with the fastest time of 4:15.27 minutes. Joanna Maranhao won the silver title in 4:15.84 minutes, while Ana Marcela Cunha snared the bronze in a time of 4:16.21 minutes.
