Rebecca Soni is known to be one of the most popular breaststroke swimmers in the world today, as she has won many Junior and Senior titles in competitive swimming so far. She is rated as a  very competitive and highly skilled swimmer at the international
level.
In the 2008 Beijing Olympics she represented her country and won the Women’s 200m breaststroke title and two silver medals in 100m breaststroke and 4x100m medley events.
Soni took the golden crown in the Women’s 100m breaststroke in the 2009 World Championships in Rome.
Moreover, she has won three gold medals in the Women’s 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke finals during the 2010 World Championships in Dubai.
Rebecca earned three golden crowns in the 100m, 200m breaststroke and 4x100m medley finals in the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships in Irvine.
In the 2005 Summer Universiade, she managed to win another gold medal in the Women’s 4x100m medley final at Izmir.
Soni has been preparing hard for the FINA World Championships in Shanghai. She looks very confident to add more gold medals into her record list in China.

In the meantime, Jessica Hardy claimed the silver title in the Women’s 100m freestyle final with a winning time of 1:05.90 and broke her previous record of 1:06.13 set in Brazil.
“That’s the fastest I’ve done without a [fast] suit, ever. We represent the same country, so [Soni] is a barrier. Obviously, there’s only one gold medal in our race. But she will help me get there, too. She’s the best racer in the world,” said Hardy.
Last, but not the least, Jillian Tyler of Minnesota rounded out the top three in the 100m freestyle final with a competitive time of 1:08.20, while Amanda Beard of Tucson Ford placed fourth with a time of 1:08.46 in the following meet.
