Rebecca Tzou trounces Shirleen Chen to claim Girl’s Singles U17 title at 2012 MBBC Jr International
Rebecca Tzou, an upcoming shuttler from USA, proved her mettle as she claimed Girl’s Singles U17 title after putting up strong show against her lower ranked compatriot Shirleen Chen in the final showdown at the 2012 MBBC Jr International on Thursday, July
19, in USA.
The top seeded Rebecca, who proved her superiority on court by playing tremendous badminton in the whole championship, remained on the right track and easily registered a comprehensive victory over Shirleen in the final battle.
The in-form Rebecca showed an incredible performance in the title match when she played with complete control and remained in commanding position all the way to grab victory in a comprehensive fashion.
Shirleen, who was the second seed in the event, was completely helpless against the fireworks of her higher ranked team-mate and failed to put up strong resistance in the entire battle. She lost the match in straight games without even getting close on the
board.
The top seed started her run in a dominating and controlled way in opening set of the match and did not let her rival to get a good rhythm.
Until the mid-game interval in first game, it was Rebecca who showed her class and set up a huge lead on the score board.
After the interval, the gritty Rebecca continued her remarkable skills on court without showing any respect to Shirleen and easily wrapped up opening set with an incredible 21-9 score on the board.
In the following game, Rebecca again did not let her rival to play normal badminton in opening rallies as she played with aggression aiming to get an early advantage.
The higher ranked Rebecca remained successful in taking a wonderful lead on the score board until the mid-game break.
After the interval, Rebecca remained consistent on court by displaying her impressive temperament and did not execute hasty shots to avoid losing her control.
The aggressive Rebecca was in full swing in the ending points of second game and easily took the set with a huge difference of 21-13.
Rebecca bagged the title in a smashing fashion by beating Shirleen in the final battle with a staggering 21-9 and 21-13 margin on the board.
