Rebecca Zeiger of Bluefish-NE claimed gold medal of the Women’s 200m freestyle in 13-14 year olds category on opening day of the 2013 CeraVe Invitational at Berkeley Aquatic Club, on Friday, January 11, 2013.
The 13-year-old, who had a best seeded time, lived up to the expectations of the crowd by reaching the top of medal rostrum for gold medal.
With her notable pace, Zeiger remained considerably ahead of her following swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 12.39 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Julien Zhu of SCAR-NJ, who was 0.61 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall for silver medal by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 13.00 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Cat Alabanza of SCAR-NJ, who stepped on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 13.48 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was secured by Abigail Martin of Bluefish-NE, who stayed two and a half body length behind ns concluded her race in fourth place by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 15.93 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Megan Fields of North Baltimore, who was 0.66 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 16.59 seconds.
Fields was followed by Catherine Erwin of Bluefish-NE, who was 0.08 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end for sixth place by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 16.67 seconds.
Following that, the arena witnessed a draw between Ellie McComas and Courtney Brown of Bluefish-NE, who tried hard to upset each other but failed to do so. They stayed almost 0.80 seconds away from their former finisher and settled on the wall for seventh place by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 17.41 seconds.
In addition, the crowd appreciated notable efforts of all participants in their respective events while the position holders received medals and accolades for their gruelling forms after the session.
