Rebel xt taking to bright of pictures?

I am taking morning shots at my sons football game and I have it set to action shot and I had the shutter speed on 1600 some one please help me I want to get great photos they are only little once and I want to have great pictures to remember it by.

  1. Things that will increase the exposure of an image:

    - High ISO

    - Long shutter speed.

    - Small f-stop number (large aperture).

    Play around with these to get the right exposure. Your camera should have a light meter in the viewfinder. You want to set these settings so that the moving arrow lines up with the middle arrow on the meter.


  2. Make sure your ISO is not high. It should be around 100 when you are taking a pictures in day light. What aperture did you use? Decrease the aperture next time (Increase f) and that should reduce the brightness that you were getting.
