Rebuild top end?

I have a 2005 RM 125. How much does it cost for a mechanic to rebuild the top end? How often should it be done?

I was just about to have a mechanic rebuild my top end on my yz125 it was going to be $280 for wiseco piston and top end gaskets and labor. but i decided just to do it my self to save $160. I replace mine about 5-6 trips to the dunes just so i can have top Performance. But 40-50 hours between new top ends.

try to learn how to do it yourself, this will save you a ton of money each and every time you rebuild it......

now if you take it to a mechanic at a dealership, you will be looking at about 65 bucks per hour, just in labor, and about 4-5 hours of labor will be involved, then there is the top end kit, about 150 bucks, then if the cylinder needs to be honed or bored. a hone is about 20 bucks, and a bore is about 70 bucks......
