Recap:  Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers 116 - 108
The Phoenix Suns had a great session in front of the home crowd at US Airways Center as they achieved a relatively trouble-free 116-108 win over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers.
Prominent Players
Five Phoenix players scored in double figures, including a team-high 29 points, including five three-pointers off the bench from Jason Richardson. Hakim Warrick followed him with 25 points - he hit 13-of-14 free throws. Channing
Frye and Steve Nash had 16 points each, while Nash also added 10 assists.
The Clippers were led by Eric Gordon, who scored a game-high 32 points with six assists. Blake Griffin did all he could as he had a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Ryan Gomes added 20 points in the defeat.
First Quarter
The Suns registered 42 points at the end of the first quarter of the game, led by seventeen points from Richardson.
The Sun’s biggest lead was 25 (42 – 17), with 00:31 to go - their highest-scoring period of the season.
Gordon led the Clippers with 7 points.
The Suns led by 21 points (42 – 21).
Second Quarter
The Clippers held Suns to 21 points in the second quarter and cut down the deficit by 5 points.
The Suns had only two turnovers in cruising to a 67-51 halftime lead.
Warrick was a big contributor in the first half, scoring 16 points with five rebounds, while Hill had 10 points and five assists.
Gomes connected on three 3-pointers in the first half and led the Clippers with 13 points, while Gordon scored 11 but hit only 4-of-11 shots.
Third Quarter
The Clippers cut the deficit to four points twice in the third quarter, the last at 75-71, before the Suns went on a 23-10 run, ending the period with a 98-81 lead.
Frye made two 3-pointers and Richardson and Nash one apiece.
Fourth Quarter
Clipper’s Cook played the first shot of the final session with a 3-pointer to cut down the deficit to 98 – 84.
In the fourth quarter, the closest Los Angeles got was 114-108, but it really fell short.
Clippers fall short of their fourth victory of the season.
Comparable  
Throughout the game, both teams were extremely accurate on 3-pointers; the Suns finishing 12 of 25 and the Clippers 11 of 24.
