Recap South Korean Grand Prix
As the Formula One track headed for the 17th race of the season all the teams as well as the race fans kept their fingers crossed. The race in Korea was expected to be just as thrilling and awe-inspiring as the entire season had been.
The tug of the title was believed to be more intense than seen ever before all through the season. All the top five drivers, Mark Webber of Red Bull, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, the other Red Bull racer Sebastian Vettel and the two McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton
and Jenson Button, were getting ready for a very brutal and fierce battle.
The newly laid layer of asphalt on the Korean International track was a hazard for the drivers, since the track was very slippery. The Red Bull’s Vettel was extra careful there while driving as he has already shown some discouraging stunts on the track in
a few early races this season.
The man who needed to be the most careful as well as most vigilant at the track was Lewis Hamilton of McLaren. He had undergone so much hard luck in the past few races that still seeing him as one of the title chaser was unbelievable. He had only been able
to finish three races among the last five while the last round in Japan was poorly finished by the British driver at fifth place.
The Korean Grand Prix was not only the last opportunity for the 2008 World Champion to bounce back but also a great one as the track was alien to everyone. None of the cars or the drivers were suited for the track. Moreover, this was the last chance for
Hamilton to able to get back.
While the only thing on earth that Hamilton wanted then was to finish ahead of the charts’ topper Webber though the Red Bull driver was not very concerned about this British man. All that Webber was aiming then was to keep the other two stronger rivals,
Vettel and Alonso, at back.
Another man with high hopes was Nick Heidfeld who just needed a strong finish to secure his place for the 2011 season, as he was not able to get one this year up till the final few races.
Nico Hulkenberg was surely under great heat and pressure in the last three races. He definitely needed to perform very well in order to secure his seat at the Williams for the forth coming season.
One man to be avoided was Virgin Racing's Lucas Di Grassi. At the last round in Japan, the driver was seen racing very poorly as he was engaged in five blunders in a poor accident right as the start of the race.
However, the debut Korean Grand Prix brought along some interesting results. The race conducted this Sunday saw Fernando Alonso lead the caravan with a lead of 11 points from Mark Webber.
