to be better teams in Pool B.
Vietnam vs. Japan 3-0 (25-22, 25-12, and 25-18) – Pool A
The home team extended its winning streak to 2-0 on the second day of the tournament. They had defeated Philippine in the previous match and the victory totally enhanced their performance against Japan in the next match. Vietnam enjoyed the advantage of
home-court and dominated the opponents. Japanese team was known for good attack tactics but they didn’t work out against well prepared Team Vietnam. The hosts took the game away from opponents with a display of better game. Japanese side failed to put up with
the heavy strike of volleys and accepted defeat in straight sets.
Philippine vs. Iran 0-3 (13-25, 13-25, and 9-25) – Pool A
Iran recovered from the shock of early defeat from Japan in the opening match of the championship on Sunday. Iranian team saw off Philippine in straight sets and added more fuel to their injury by providing them with second defeat. Team Iran was in total
control of the game since the beginning of first set. The smart moves of Iranian setter and combination of good offensive and defensive techniques simply earned them better status over Philippine. 13 was the maximum score that Philippine’s team could built
up, which obviously led them to disaster in the end. Iran claimed match victory in three consecutive sets.
China vs. Indonesia 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, and 25-13) – Pool B
In the first match of Pool B on second day, Chinese women launched authority on Indonesian opponents. The Indie ladies seemed to be out of form as they couldn’t sustain the pressure from Chinese side. They made too many unnecessary mistakes and gave way
to China’s dominance in the game. Chinese team sparked on the scene and captured all three sets to announce match victory. It was China’s first victory in the 2011 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship. China was defeated by Kazakhstan in the previous
match.
Thailand vs. Kazakhstan 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 25-17, 25-18) – Pool B
