Silver medallist – Egypt
One day before the final match on 18th September 2010, Egypt contested its skill-set with season’s fit Tunisian team. The Pharaohs couldn’t perform well in front of defending champion and lost the match in straight three sets. Tunisia crushed
their dreams to capture gold-ware. Nonetheless, the Egyptian team continued their struggle and played a match against Algeria for 2nd position in the championship. Algeria was comparatively weak team and Egypt easily managed to overpower them.
The first set of the match was completely controlled by Egypt. They served with consistency and raised their score. Egyptian players were raged up due to the defeat in last match, so they spilt their anger on Algeria in current match. The young boys of Algeria
had a hard time to absorb Egyptian shots. They failed to contribute any points in their score. Algeria struggled with opponents’ errors; otherwise their weak spikes didn’t scare the other team. Egypt picked up lead in no time and further maintained it until
the end of first set. They clipped a 25-8 victory in the opening set.
The big margin defeat signalled Egyptian rule in the game. The game progressed and second set proved to be the worst experience for Algeria. The ruling team of Egypt put them in the corner and put a stopper on their progress. Algerian score remained below
5, while Egypt announced second set victory. The final score of second set was 25-4.
Egypt continued with success in the next set and clinched victory after posting 25-16. It enabled Egypt to claim silver medal in 2010 Boys Youth African Championship.
Bronze medallist - Morocco
After losing to Egypt, Algeria came to face Morocco on 18th September, 2010. It was another chance for Algeria to get a better status in game but unfortunately, they failed again. Algerian team exhibited a better performance and tried to overcome
their flaws, which caused them damage in the last game. Anyhow, Morocco enjoyed the better form and ousted Algeria in straight sets. They conquered bronze medal with a score of 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, and 25-16).
Morocco brought their expert players in the game and delivered an exceptional performance. They started the first set with an average speed but gradually picked up rhythm. Algeria had learned enough from their past experiences and stayed away from committing
same mistakes. It helped them improve their score but Morocco was equipped with a lot of tricks and techniques to subdue them. They pulled off first-set win (25-21) over Algeria.
Algerian team was really upset for their downfall. They put collective effort and managed to surpass Moroccans. They moved along with good velocity and resisted to opponents’ score. The situation turned in a different direction when Algerian-setter made
wrong contact with net. Morocco scored a couple of points and took the score to finish line. Second set ended at 25-23 with Morocco’s win.
