Reccomend a good 10 speed Mountain Bike?

I have been riding my brothers ancient 10 speed roadmaster, and it is so rusted out, i need a new one. not to mention the tires dont hold air very long. I need a good, inexpensive, 10 speed mountain bike. It can be more than 10, bu that is the lowest number of gears I will ever use. Give me a link to it!

How inexpensive do you need to go?

If cost is a concern - I'd definately go with a used bike, but this will take longer to find.  Used bikes, in good condition, normally sell for about 50% of what the new bikes go for.  You can find them on Craigslist, garage sales, etc.

Next challenge is to see what size of bike you fit - if it's too small or too big, you'll be uncomfortable, and possible develop an injury - a bike store can help you here (may also be able to hook you up with a used bike).

As for brands, I'd go with Specialized or Trek for a mountainbike.  You can buy a lower end model new for about $170 - and get a very nice bike new for abour $400.

Nobody has made 10 speed bikes for decades.

The best place to start is your local bike shop. Tell them where and how you want to ride. Also tell them how much money you have to spend. They will match you up with the bike that best meets your needs. They are also qualified to set up the bike so that it fits you. This is a very important part of the service. A bike that fits properly is a pleasure and a joy to ride. A bike that fits poorly is torture.
