Receive fax message?

Question

My fax machine shares a line with my phone. Will a fax message stay in memory until I plug the line into the machine?

I am at work and want to know if I can request something be faxed and be able to print it out tonight when I get home?

HI DLS: If I understand your question, your home phone & fax share the same line. There are many  types of fax machines available with different features & options.In order to receive a fax at home, the fax must be powered, the phone line plugged in & the fax set to auto answer. If you call from work, it should answer in 2 to 3 rings & you should hear shake hands tones. If sending from a fax machne at work, push Send & hang up the phone. The fax should be sent to your home machine. Check your fax manual for features & options. I hope this is of help to you.    exbelltel
