Wife. It says " If the net income tax liability on my '07 tax return is less then $600 and had $3000 or more in qualifying income the amount is $600." Does this have anything to do with her making over $3000 from self employment? And why does this make a difference? It's not that much, wht don't we qualify for the full amount?

  1. we didn't qualify for the full amount either.

    why?

i think because my husband was in the military...we got a good tax break for his combat months.. who knows why they made all these loopholes to give people who deserve it most less money....

    go figure.

    yay uncle sam.

he didn't get that purple heart for nothing.

  2. Because the government is greedy and they want to keep a portion for themselves.........

  3. could be as u said ur wife brought in some income for the year i am single w/2kids and i believe i am getting $1,200 back 300.0 per child wait maybe thats it it's a child tax credit so that could be why your getting that amount recheck that again and ur dependents....hope i was of some help to you...either way happy spending!

  4. Economic Stimulus Payment Calculator

you can calculate it on this site http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/

  5. You get 600 because you fall within a certain tax bracket.  you get 300 for your child.  Your wife's income must be outside of the 600 bracket.  You could have also messed up when you filed your taxes.

  6. If she applied for taxes she will most likely be getting her own stimulas check. she can check at irs.gov

  7. i think that she probably made too much!....like that is even possible!...hahahaha

  8. You are only getting 900 for yourself and your daughter.  Your wife should get a letter stating she will receive 600 for herself.  You are getting your daughters because you were probably primary on the taxes and she was claimed under you.

Me and my husband each received a letter stating we would get 600.  But, we got one check for 1200 deposited into our account.  So, give it time...your wife will get her letter and her money!  :)

  9. Use the calculator at the website.

If you filed MFJ, the $900 check was for you, your wife and your daughter at $300 each.  The range per taxpayer was $300 up to $600--many married couples only got $600, not the $1200 they assumed they would get.

  10. I would definitely call and make sure there wasn't a mistake and have them explain it in full.
