Receiver trouble.............?

all vertical channels, only vertical, lose signal every day from 7:30 to 9:00 am and pm!! we are the only ones in the neighbourhood that have this problem... we tried updating the software it used to work for sometime but the problem keeps coming back... last time we updated the software it didn't work at all.. we have no idea what causes this problem it's driving us crazy... any advice?

  1. Considering it's only one polarity and that it happens at the same time every night, I would have a tendency to believe it has to do with the coax feed line or the LNB in the dish.  I've seen systems behave exactly like this when there is moisture in the feed or in the coax for that polarity.  Basically, when the sun goes down, the moisture cools and creates a mini "rain fade" inside the system.  You probably get the same effect early in the morning when the sun comes up, too.

    Try the system reset, but if the problem continues, then start looking for water leaks, especially around connectors.  If the cable is wet, depending on how badly it's compromised, it may be slightly warm to the touch, too.

  2. Sometimes the MICRO locks up and you have to UNPLUG the power cord for 5 minutes so the Micro can shut down and Reload it's software....

    Try that....on both the reciever AND your TV set....

    We find problems like yours solved 90% of the time....
