I just sold an item on ebay, but i still don't know what payment did the buyer used. In case the buyer used paypal, will I be able to receive the payment even though my account in paypal is only personal account? I'm not really into business, I just sell some stuff that I don't need in Ebay once in a while. I tried to upgrade my account to business and it's asking me lots of things like business name, percentage of annual revenue, etc. What should I do? I'm only a personal seller and just want to accept payment through paypal coz i heard it is easy and safe.

And I really don't know what should I put on those questions that paypal is asking me.

Please help me thanks!

  1. just leave it as a personal account unless you have your own business and an ABN number.

message the buyer and find out what type of method he is using to pay you

and never send out an item before you receive payment

  2. log onto your paypal acct and the payment should be there.  it should also show up in your ebay selling section.  You don't have to have a business acct.  Depending on your paypal/ebay settings you should receive emails when your payment was received.   You'll get used to it.  It really is a safe payment method.

  3. First, re-read the email you received from Ebay informing you that you had sold an item.

Second, follow the instructions Ebay gives you in the email on how to create an invoice for the item that was sold or log-in to your Ebay account and create an invoice to sent to the buyer.  Remember to add the postage.

Third, what payment methods did you state where acceptable on your seller page??

Fourth, wait until you receive payment from the buyer before you do anything; especially before you mail the item that was sold.

Fifth, if you stated you accepted paypal...a personal acccount is all you need.  Log-in to paypal and read the difference between a personal account and a business account.

Sixth, if you still need help....post your questions again.

  4. First off you need to change from a business to personal acct. Email the buyer and see what payment method they used if you did not specify which you would accept. then check your paypal acct. to see if the funds are in there. you can also ask for the persons phone number, and ask them directly. if you have too many problems with paypal just ask buyers to send money orders.

  5. no you don't need to upgrade your paypal account to a business account.  If the buyer payed with paypal, The payment will show up in your Paypal account.  You will get an email notification from Ebay telling you that your buyer has paid, and how they paid.

  6. using a personal account is fine.

the funds should pop up in your recent activity once he had transferred them. if your pay pal account's email address is the same as your ebay address they will go to the same account however if your ebay address is diff from your pay pal account you will need to start a new pay pal account.

  7. I sell items on eBay quite often. I only use paypal because its quicker and much easier! Just upgrade to the 'business accoun' and put your name as the business name. When it asks what type of business, put personal and income as the minimum. And you're done!!
