Seem like even the media no longer critilize the chinese goverment after they had pretty freely media access of their information. Unlike Burma, Chinese goverment response quickly to the crisis. Do you think that improve image of china?

  1. I think so especially with the contrast with Myanmar and even the United States' handling of Hurricane Katrina.  Most of the criticism on China is that its government doesn't care about its people and basically holding down the people under its thumb.

The way the central government is handling this disaster is showing a direct opposite as Premier Wen arrived almost immediately after the disaster.  A farcry from what Cheney or Bush did with Katrina.  It showed how there's a complete open media coverage of what happened and that it looks like China is putting every resources they have to save lives.

How can one critique the Chinese Central Government when it's doing everything it can to save its citizen?  Isn't that the role of government?
