Recently,Ipurchased an Old Timer brand knife in the large Hunter ,both blades are stamped Case xx.??who knows?

Does anyone know if these companies were connected by contract at any time?

What you have is a Case Knife.  Schrade used to manufacture Old Timer knives, but Schrade has been out of business here in the US since 2004.  Taylor Brands purchased the rights to manufacture the Old Timer brand and they are currently being made in China.

The old management of Schrade started a new company, Canal Street Cutlery, and are making great quality knives under that brand in the old Schrade factory.

Case knives are made in Pennsylvania, and the two companies were never connected.
