I was asked the questions like

1. Purpose of visit (I replied that I am going to get training on new peoplesoft features that are useful for the new product which I have to develop here in India)

2.What is the current position(I replied Senior developer)

3.How much package you are getting in india in the company which you are working right now (I replied 1.44 INR per annum).

Thats all, the consular handed over the passport to me and given one form and ticked 214 (b). in that form.

What will be the reason that my visa was rejected .Please let me know the reason so that I can prepare accordingly

Thanks and regards

  1. The embassy officials are so arrogant that they continuously reject visa applications even without valid reasons.  They are using the process for income generation and to discourage applicants so that they will have less work.

  2. Persons entering the U.S. on a visitor visa, for business or tourism (B-1/B-2), or without a visa on the Visa Waiver Program are not permitted to work. If you are planning to work, or to attend certain training in the U.S., you cannot enter the U.S. with a visitor visa. Instead, you will need a visa in one of the employment categories for temporary workers.

Does this training come under this provision? If your company is paying you to take this training you may need a different visa.
