of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. In addition, people are destroying forests at a rapid rate. How could this affect the carbon dioxide/oxygen cycle.

  1. Forests use Carbon Dioxide and give off Oxygen.  Thus cutting down the trees lessens the CO2 consumption.

  2. Forests are carbon traps. If these forests are logged, the amount of carbon being trapped diminishes. This can be overcome by reafforestation. This will improve the situation.

    With removal of forests, if the waste is burnt more CO2 is released. If the waste is left behind, this CO2 is still released but over a far longer period of time. Thei will also help prevent erosion and helh establish the new forest.
