I was wondering if it would be too much if instead of place cards i got little picture frames and engraved the guest name on the frame then put a picture of the guest or of the guest and myself or my fiance in it to just add a little something to the tables or would it be too much?

any other ideas would be helpful!

  1. That's a great idea and if you don't already have a wedding favor planned, that could definitely be it.  I think a picture of you and your fiancee would be perfect for the frames.  Maybe you could do a variety of pictures, for example if you have 20 tables, have a different picture assigned for each table and everyone at that table would have the same picture.  Or, if 10 people are seated at a table, have 10 different pictures so everyone at the table has a different picture.  It's a great conversation starter!

  2. Its seems like a really nice touch.

you could ask your guest to send a picture with there rsvp. It seems like most people won't mind doing that. We're asking our guest for pictures so we can do a slide show when we enter.

  3. It's a really cute idea if you can afford it (engraving is expensive), but I think you should rethink about what photo you put in there. Guest aren't going to want a photo of themselves and it might be hard to find a photo of yourself with every guest. So instead I give you these two options: put in a photo of you and your fiance (you can use different photos to liven it up a bit) or do the photo of you and guest idea but only do it for the head table (save on cost and I'm sure you have a picture with each of those people or will at least have an opportunity for one).

  4. i love the idea of the picture frames but the pictures may be a bit hard to come by

  5. frames are great and placing their names inside as a pace card.  then they can use the frames later for a photo of their own.

engraving could add up since they are all different names and you would need one per guest.

  6. We thought about something like this too.  In the end, it just seemed like too much work.  We decided to come up with fun names for the different tables (places we've traveled to).  We then bought pic frames & put a pic of us at the location & another frame with the table name on each table.  That was much easier.  We couldn't figure out how we'd get pictures of everyone & it started to seem like a HUGE project.

  7. That sounds like a great idea, but  it might be expensive so if money's not an issue I say go for it.

  8. Very cute idea!  Sounds like a lot of work and a lot of $$$ though.  What if you don't have a picture of or with a guest?  What would you put in the frame then?  A pic of you and your FH?
