  1. Wrong.  Recession is a negative growth in the economy for two consecutive quarters.

  2. Money does not dictate a better or worse person.

  3. That is really offensive to all the hard working Americans who are trying to stay afloat in all the hard times we're in.

    And I'm a Conservative.

    Dude, seriously not cool.

  4. Unless it happens to you. then the joking stops, and you look at life in a new way.

    >>> Enlightenment or ruin. It's up to you.

  5. Wow you show your ignorant arrogance.

So, if you are working at your job for years and suddenly your boss tells you she is very sorry, but you are being laid off, effective immediately, because your job (along with 3000 others within the company) has just been eliminated.

You try to find a job and find that there are no openings in your field, because there are so many experienced people looking for so few available jobs that the openings are getting filled before you even get a chance to apply.

You apply for unemployment, use that and your savings up to pay your Cobra health insurance payment, mortgage, utility bills and food.  You are still out of work, so you cash out your 401k.  Now it has been six months and you have finally found a part-time job at a fast food place.  You no longer have unemployment.  You cant afford the Cobra payment anymore and your employer doesn't offer health care for part-time employees. You trade back your two-year old car for a cheap older model used car to eliminate your car payment. You can no longer make your mortgage payment so you put your house on the market.  The housing market sucks so you have to lower the price of your house in order to sell.  You barely make enough on the sale to make up the missed mortgage payments, pay the realtor, and then pay first and last month on a cheap rental apartment. You are still looking for a job in your area of expertise while you are working part-time, and finally are resigned to the possiblity of going back to school to learn a new trade.  You are too old for traditional scholarships so you look to the State Employment Office for help.

Oh sorry they say..........the Republicans have eliminated all of the programs to help in your situation.  Haven't you noticed we are in a recession and you are now one of the "lousy poor ones" we are weeding out.

  6. And makes the rich , richer

  7. No it shows who the psychopaths are. they are the ones preying on the people made desperate by the economic problems. namely republicans.

  8. NOPE. It cuts down the Tall Poppies - the arrogant who have risen higher than their abilities and over extended themselves on other people's money ("Credit").

  9. Poor but free from debt and happier in Spirit.

The Rich -well they have a lot to lose -a bit top heavy and far to fall.

For me it is like falling off the couch (or ladder -if things get real tough) -for them it is like falling off the empire state building. It can happen -look at the stock market crash -they jumped from their tall buildings -the poor they continued onward. Recession or not (we poor know life can be hard so our ability for joy is that much greater and appreciated so much more so.)

    Peace

  10. No. The poor generally do not have the debt that the middle and upper classes have. Most middle class to middle upper class have debt up to their eyeballs. With the huge increases in the price of housing, they have mortgaged themselves up to and beyond the value of their assets and now with the inevitable shrinkage of the cost of houses, they now owe more than the equity in their homes. Add the maxed out credit cards, store cards etc. one will soon realise that a recession will weed out those that borrowed beyond their means and it will be they who will be left broke, homeless and hungry as every penny goes to the bank. The poor have nothing and are quite used to sharing and not coveting what they cannot afford whereas the rich have gazed across to the Jones' , seen the new jukuzi, conservatory and remotely operated awnings and desired them. Recession will weed out the stupid people but they will not necessarily be the poor ones. Netto car parks already filling up with SUV's and mercedes and BMW's.

  11. The amount of money you have does not indicate whether you are a good person or not.

If that were true, Paris Hilton would be a better person than Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
