Rechargable batteries (in phone)?

The rechargable batteries in my phone are a bit knackered. I have to keep the phone on the cradle all the time. Sometimes I put normal batteries in it when I need to make a call. I am getting rechargable ones soon. What would happen if I put the phone on the cradle with normal batteries in? Is it dangerous?

it would most likely not work if it doent it will fry your phone basically ruin it and is this your cell phone ot home phone home phone keep normal batteries i know there a lot of money if you cant afford them see a technician at best buy or something
