  1. A standard alkaline battery is 1.5 volts when new.  A rechargeable battery is usually 1.2 volts when fully charged.  You won't hurt anything by using a rechargeable battery, you just won't get the run time out of them that you might expect and feel like you're constantly charging the batteries.

  2. Rechargeable batteries do not have as much voltage as standard batteries and the voltage drops faster near the end of every charge. You can certainly try the rechargeable and nothing bad will happen to your device. It may not power on or stay charged as long as you would like or lose power when the indicator says it still has charge.

  3. I don't know but my Swiffer mop says the same thing and I have been Swiffing for months without problems.  I wondered the same thing and decided to ignore their advice and just Swiff the way I want to Swiff.

  4. rechargable batteries use a different composition of chemcials to store electricity. their internal resistance is usually alot higer for this reason, and would therefore bugger up your phone by tricking it into thinking that there was less battery then there actually is.

  5. You didn't give a good description, such as brand of product, model number, etc., so it is hard to answer your question.

In many cases use of rechargeables will be okay without damage to your devices.  Like others answered, the difference in voltages could affect performance.

  6. Rechargable batteries use a different voltage. Many devices are designed to use either type of battery, but some require the higher voltage of alkaline batteries.

Yes, it could mess it up.
