I HAVE BEEN SENT A NIP FOR DRIVING AT 36M IN A 30M ZONE. THEY SAY THAT THE NORMALLY SPEEDO SHOWS 10% EXTRA SO TECHNICALLY THAT MEANS THAT I WAS DRIVING AT 39-40M.

I HAVE BEEN PASSING THE CAMERA FOR 7 YEARS AND I AM 100% sure that i was 29m on my speedo.

i used my car just to park it at one of our shops just less than a 1m journey ending 50-100 yards from the gatso.

i was no way speeding.

i am aware that this gatso keeps on flashing even when you are at 20m due to the cars speeding from the opposite directions.

i am, 110% that i was within the limit

can somebody advise

please help as i am truely innocent

thanx

regards

  1. You're not going to win this one, no matter what. The only thing you can do is plead innocent, and when you go to trial demand to see the film or photos. I could bore you with formulas on calculating speed, distance, etc., but the easiest question to ask is whether you have put larger rear tires on the car, changed the gears, etc.? These modifications will make the car to go faster than what the speedo was originally calibrated for.

If you don't mind spending money needlessly, you could hire a lawyer, and claim the cameras are an invasion of your privacy, violate your constitutional rights, etc.  Good Luck.

  2. If your 110% sure you was within the limit go to court.

    If not just pay up.

Got one through the post myself before christmas said i was doing 59 in a 50, no way it was right as its near my home and i dont speed past it.

Thing is they know most people will just pay up rather than risk court and possibly more points and a bigger fine therefore falty cameras dont get reported and keep paying up.
