Recieved bad work from a dentist?

I had a chip repaired last month and ten days later it crumbled and fell out of my mouth unproveoked. When I called to make an appointment to repair the tooth, I got a message saying the Dentist unexpectedly went onm maternity leave for a premature baby, and wouldn't be in the office for some time. When I made an appointment with another dentist I was charged $180. because my insurance wouldn't pay twice in a month for the same service. What can I do? The dentist who did the botch job is still sending me a bill for $50 of what my insurance wouldn't cover.

  1. So when you called their office to explain what has happened what did they say?

You need to get into a discussion about this issue with both offices...Yes the filling should have lasted more than 10 days...but since that Dr. didn't re-do it, she should have made an agreement with the other Dr. about this sort of happening.

It might take a bit of time for them to work it out, but be patient, and they will have to come to some sort of resolution, as you should not be billed for the re-do by the doctor who was covering for the dr. on leave..
