I just don't know what to make of this little strange email, I never emailed any "jilly" and want to know what are my options of investigating where this is from before I open the email further? Any help here? The message contains personal poetry- anyone reading it could easily concur it was sent to them- but I don't think any "jilly " knows me personally at all.It almost sounds like a self educated individual's personal view of life put to poetry. I feel warned about it.So, I am wanting to know what this is before I even think about responding to it. Gail

  1. Email addresses are easily spoofed, meaning with minimal skills you can make an email look like it's from *anyone*. This email is most likely spam or malicious. I, personally, don't open email from people I don't know, and I think that is a good habit to get into.

I would not respond to the email.

Be careful, the web is a dangerous place! :)

  2. never respond to an email if you don't know who it's from. you probably shouldn't have even opened it. it could be a virus. also there are sites on the internet where you can write an email to someone from any email address, it's possible that's what happened and it was just one of your friends playing a joke on you.
