Question:

Recieving the Holy Spirit?

Jesus says we must be born again of water and the spirit to enter heaven. How can I recieve the Holy Spirit, I've tried praying for it but nothing happens, if anyone here has already recieved Him please tell me what it feels like and how you recieved it.

  1. My girlfriend says it felt heavenly when she recieved hers for the first time. She also said that she was in the missionary position.


  2. Ok there is no beam of light that shines down and you dont really feel anything except maybe peace that you are going to heaven. You arent going to feel anything until you continue to pray, read the bible and fellowship with other christians. Slowly over time you feel the holy spirit more and more but there will never be a big bang of a feeling. You cant pray to feel it either. You have to understand that you are sinful and that you have to become more in touch with God in order to get the real christian experience if I can even call it that. Good luck. Keep praying.

  7. Well, it is a personal experience and is as individual as someones birth.  For me it was like being without negative thoughts and totally relaxed about life, the universe and everything and then joy.  

    I can see that for some who see my answer, it is like casting pearls to the swine, but I am hopeful that for the one who asked it has fallen on fertile soil.

  8. In the Roman Catholic faith we receive the Holy Ghost when we make our Confirmation. At first you don't really feel anything but, as you grow and get older you feel the Spirit working inside you. You have a great sense of awareness of your surroundings and the people around you. You also have a deep sense of right and wrong. So the Spirit is there and you can feel it. God bless you.
