Melt margarine over medium low heat in a skillet.

Place a buttered (real butter) slice of white bread in the pan (butter side down).

Put 2 slices of cheese on top of bread.

Cover with another piece of bread.  

Spread butter over the top of that last piece of bread.

Allow to brown to golden.  Turn over and brown the other side.

The trick to tasty is use margarine and butter.  Cook slowly so it doesn't burn.  This will allow time for the cheese to melt.  

Do NOT cover while cooking.  This will cause the sandwich to be soggy.

GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES  

First, you take 2 breads. And then you take 1 piece of yellow cheese and put the grilled cheese in the toasted. You cook it for 5 minutes. When it looks crusty you must take it out of the toaster. Put the other cheese on top of the bread. Then put the other top on top of the cheese. Then you cut the sandwich in half (two pieces).

Put bread in toaster first. Lot's of butter in the pan (don't butter bread) Place one slice in pan then cheese then other slice. press down using bottom of pot or spatula. Add more butter to pan and flip sandwich. press again. Viola the best grilled cheese you will ever have.

1-your choice of cheese

2-butter

3-2 slices of bread

spread butter on both slices of bread. Turn on stove to medium, and melt butter in pan. Place one slice of bread on the pan (butter side should be facing the pan, getting cooked). Place cheese on top, and cover with non buttered side bread. After about 1 minute or so, flip sandwich, let cook for the same amount of time.

*sometimes i use a lid to let the cheese melt faster, and you might have to reduce the heat, just depending on the type of stove you have, and to not let it burn.

when the cheese is melted, the bread should also be crispy, golden brown, and NOT burned...BON APETITE!

Butter the outside of the bread slices and add butter to the frying pan.

Two slices of american cheese, two strips of bacon two or 3 thin slices of tomatoes.

Let the butter in the frying pan get a little hot then place the sandwich in the pan.

Take a dish and cover the sandwich pressing down slightly( use gloves if you can the dish gets hot).

After a few minutes look and see it the side browned and if it did, turn it over( add more butter to the frying pan).

Let if cook on the other side and remove it when it's brown enough for you.

I always add mayo afterward and everyone says it's the best they ever had( and they aren't kidding because they beg me all the time to make them).

If you don't eat meat, omit the bacon of course.

I like mine crispy too. I use olive oil and maybe some butter with Italian herbs in the oil.  Sourdough bread and a good cheddar or Swiss and you got yourself a great grilled.  

When I'm really hungry maybe a nice turkey or deli meat, but not always.
