  1. You don't REALLY think a commercial concern is going to give away its trade secrets do you? Anyone who was able to give you their recipe - AND DID SO - would be guilty of industrial espionage ! ! !

  2. You could try secretrecipes.com they may have what you're looking for.

May get some help here as well, it seems sainsbury's cookies are world famous !!

  3. Walnut and sultana

    75g butter, softened

    75g caster sugar

    75g soft brown sugar

    few drops vanilla essence

    1 medium size egg

    175g self raising flour, sifted

    1 teaspoon ground mace

    85g sultanas

    75g chopped walnuts

  4. Cookies

This is a fantastic cookie recipe, i found it about 4 years or so ago in a SAINSBURY magazine.

    Ingredients

    175g (6oz) caster sugar

    110g (4oz) brown sugar

    225g (8oz) unsalted butter

    2 large eggs

    1tsp vanilla extract

    450g (1lb) plain flour

    1tsp baking powder

    1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

    Method

Beat the sugar and butter together until pale and fluffy.

Gradually beat in the eggs and vanilla essence.

Sift the flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda and fold in.

Roll the mix into two logs and wrap in glad wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (it can be frozen at this stage too).

Slice into 1cm thick slices.  Arrange on a baking tray and decorate with whatever you like, i have used smarties and choc chips.

Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes @ 180 degrees Celsius.  They will still be soft to the touch but will harden when they cool.

(the longer you leave it to chill the better)

To make chocolate cookies substitute 3 heaped tablespoons of flour for cocoa powder.

You can add anything to this cookie dough, such as nuts, dried fruits, spices, peanut butter etc etc etc, just experiment!
