    Things You’ll Need:

    lightly salted real butter

    1 cup of sugar

    microwave safe bowl

    microwave

    spoon

    Step1 Take your microwave safe bowl and put butter in. Melt the butter in the microwave for about a minute.



    Step2 Take the butter out, it should be fully melted.

    Step3 Add the sugar and stir. You should have a delicious glaze!

  3. OK this probably isn't much help, but they rock if you use a typical yeast bread dough and deep fry it until golden brown. Then powdered sugar and water for the glaze. They melt in your mouth.OMG they are so good.  

  4. 1 c. shortening

    1 c. sugar

    1 1/2 tsp. salt

    1 qt. scalded cooled skim milk

    1 c. mashed potatoes

    6 eggs

    11 c. flour

    glaze:  water and powdered sugar  pour over donuts

    or

    2 c. scalded milk

    1/2 c. shortening

    1 c. sugar

    1 c. water

    1/2 tsp. salt

    Mix all together.

    2 eggs, beaten

    1 cake yeast

    6-8 c. flour

    When cool, add eggs, yeast, and flour. Let rise for 2 hours, then roll out. Cut, then let rise again. Brown in hot oil on both sides.

    GLAZE:

    1/2 lb. powdered sugar

    1/2 tsp. vanilla

    1 tbsp. butter

    Mix well, then pour over donuts.

  7. Chocolate Glaze

    2 tablespoons butter

    2 tablespoons cocoa

    3 tablespoons hot water

    1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat;

    add

    cocoa and water. Stir constantly until mixture is thick. Remove from heat;

    gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat with a whisk until smooth.

    Add

    additional hot water, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, until drizzling consistency.

    For vanilla glaze, omit cocoa and add 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
