In the 50's and 60's there was a restaurant on Maui that served what they called "Fried Soup" in butcher paper cones. The restaurant was called Liberty Restaurant and was owned by the Yamauchi family. The restaruant no longer exists, but the "fried soup" can sometimes still be found at times at certain fundraisers(which always sell out!)
The dish itself resembles chow fun, but the secret is in the noodles. I only have the ingredients (Hawaiian flour (????), rice flour, oil, water, eggs and salt) and I know that the noodles are steamed.
Anybody perhaps know how to go about preparing these noodles?
Thank you!
