Recipe help- crockpot?

Question

i posted a "question" earlier but i forgot to finish typing, so here is my question. I am using a recipe that uses a crock pot, but i dont have one so i was wondering if you could tell me some substitutes. i would appreciate if you would view the recipe first.

It sounds good. i would just put it ina pan  and bake at 350 for 25min. or until the topping is a golden brown. Good luck

Same website you have except not for crock pot. All that I saw had pineapple also.

1 large can crushed pineapple with juice

1 can strawberry pie filling

1 box yellow cake mix

1 cup margarine

1 cup chopped nuts

Pour pineapple into well greased 13x9x2-inch dish or pan. Pour pie filling over pineapple and spread well. Dump cake mix over pie filling. Slice butter thin and lay over top of cake mix. Bake in preheated 325 degrees oven for 45 minutes or until brown. Cool in pan and serve in pan.

Hmmm...I've never tried a cake in a crock pot before. I love to experiment with food, tho, and this is what I would do.

Do exactly what the recipe says, except put it in a cake pan. Cover it tightly with tin foil. Then turn your oven on to 150-200 degrees, and let it cook. Keep and eye on it, but try to open it as little as possible because it lets heat escape, and it alters cooking time and changes the texture because you're allowing moisture to escape, and the cake will need moisture to bake properly (that's why cake recipes call for milk, oil and/or water.)

Try it. Who knows, you might have to add water or milk next time if it doesn't turn out right.

I would also recommend buying a crock pot. For $40 you can get a decent one, and if you wait till the Day after Thanksgiving Sales, you can practically steal one. I love mine, and use it all the time.
