I know this is a little vague, but I want to cook dinner tonight and have never really cooked before. The ingredients I have are:

- Ground beef

- Frozen carrots

- Potatoes

- Cheese

- Fusilli noodles

- Spaghetti noodles

- Corn

- Green beans

Does anyone know of a simple recipe using those ingredients? Not all have to be used of course.

I know how to work an oven and cook pasta and all that stuff. I just don't really know much about cooking so nothing too complex please. Any ideas? Thanks!

  3. sound like a good stew.

brown the mince in a fry pan with a bit of oil,add diced onion & cook till the onions are soft (5-10 minutes).

Place mince, onions, add all other ingredients except noodles & cheese

    into a casserole dish.

Heat oven to 180 C then place covered casserole dish in oven for 40 minutes.

Take out, uncover & sprinkle cheese on top.

Put both noodles in a pot of boiling water & heat for 5 minutes.

Take out casserole dish & let stand for a few minutes.

Strain noodles & divide up onto dinner plates, spoon mince/stew over noodles & serve.

    Bon appetite !

  4. Cut the carrots and the potatoes in small cubes.cut also the beans in small like the size of potatoes and carrots.Cook the fusilli al dente and put them aside.saute the ground beef with olive oil ,onions and garlic.add 2 bay leaves. add the vegetables till they are cooked.cut the cheese in cubes .mix the fusilli , sauteed veggies and cheese.put them  in the oven at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.Buon appetito.Enjoy your baked fusilli pasta primavera.

  5. I'd make a Shepherd's pie:

Brown the ground beef with a little salt & pepper.

Peel and boil the potatoes, then mash with a little milk and butter if available.

Cook the carrots and green beans (I don't think I'd like it with corn).

Mix the carrots and beans with the meat, then spread the mixture in the bottom of a baking dish.  Spread the potatoes over the top, sealing to the edges of the pan.  Sprinkle shredded cheese over all, then bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or til the cheese is melted.

It's still one of my favorites - I always order it in restaurants whenever I find it on the menu.  The cool thing about Shepherd's pie is that it's designed to use whatever meat and veggies you have around.  Potatoes and cheese are the only constants.

  6. Saute your ground beef in a little olive oil.  If you have an onion and some garlic, chop them up and put them in your pan as well.  Cook your fusilli according to package directions and drain.  Chop green beans and remove corn from the cobb.  Add to ground beef mixture.  season with salt and pepper and some Italian herbs.  Cook until veges are crisp tender. Toss with pasta and sprinkle with cheese.  Bon Appetit!
