  1. Check out www.vegweb.com.  I think there's also a site for gluten-free vegans.

  2. Lentil soup. For every 8 onces of lentils Just soften some onion, carrots, celery, and a little red pepper in a tablespoon of olive oil.  Add some smoke flavoring or vegan 'ham' flavor if you want.  Add some frozen collards and let it cook for about an hour. serve over a bed of rice. Its delicious and it very filling.

  3. check out http://www.vegansociety.com/html/home.ph... for ideas - it also has nutrition guides on it that may be helpful to find alternatives

  4. This is nice. A heaping teaspoon in a cup makes a nice cup of fake chicken broth.

Light Yeast Flavoring Powder (chicken flavor broth)

    This has a poultry-type flavor.

    Ingredients

1 cup good tasting nutritional yeast flakes

    1 Tbsp. salt

    1/2 tsp. ginger

    1/2 tsp. turmeric

    1 tsp. black pepper

    1 tsp. marjoram

    1 tsp. tarragon

    1 tsp. paprika

    1 tsp. rosemary

    2 tsp. sage

    2 tsp. celery seed

    2 tsp. thyme

    2 tsp. garlic powder

    2 tsp. onion powder

    Method

Pulverize all ingredients in a blender until powdered. Store in a jar in a cool place. Use about 1 TBSP per cup?

  5. I have a similar problem, in that I have coelic disease so can't eat gluten, wheat, etc, and I'm also a lactose intollerant pescatarian so although I eat fish and eggs, I don't have dairy or the meat from mammals or birds.

I eat a lot of vegetables, polenta, corn pasta, ratatouille, rice, stir frys, etc and I don't really have any problems.

For breakfast I'll have gluten free cereal (in the free from aisle of the supermarket) and generally eat it dry, or fruit.

I make a lot of soups and salads for lunch, and for dinner I'll have a lot of stuffed veg, roasted veg, nut roast, etc.

For a lot of recipes with flour, you can substiture rice flour or similar, I don't find it too much of a problem.

A lot of recipes you might find useful are on this website:

    http://www.fatfreevegan.com/gluten-free/...

although you can find things like this all over the internet.

I hope your Grandma enjoys some of the suggestions!
