Question:

Recognising their surroundings?

My sister had her first child a month ago, and they have probably spent a ration of 60:40 of their time at home rather than at their own house while she "gets into a routine". Is there an age where the child will begin to recognise their surroundings? He seems to have trouble sleeping in the night but will sleep most of the day if needed and i was unsure if his surroundings would have an effect.

Thanks!

  1. I was also confused by the home, house thing.  But even a child that is only a month old sould be exposed to routine.  This way they will feel more secure.  xox

  2. Your question is a little unclear "of their time at home rather than at their own house " do you mean at your house?  If so then yeah the baby can get used to sleeping in a bed somewhere else and prefer the smell, temperature, background noises to another place.  So that could be a factor.  However at one month old I doubt this is already happening.  Plus at this time they are not going to sleep through the night yet.  Maybe in another 4 weeks or so.... (or not at all if it is my baby, lol)
